Having a first class honours degree, being on the Dean's List, a member of an international moot-court competition team, a varsity debater or an Advocacy Cup winner is certainly helpful, but not essential. It is more important that you recognise that there is always a lot more to learn and are willing to improve yourself and your skills every day. Do you still want decent hours and a life outside the office? We don't believe in having pool tables, lawyers' lounges, canteens serving breakfast, pizza at 5pm or X-Boxes in the office. We believe that you should have enough time to yourself to enjoy these things at home, or someplace far away from where you work. We don't live in the office and neither should you. Don't get us wrong - we work very hard. In today's Internet-age, the age-old concept of "official hours" often has little meaning. Work does not stop when we leave the office, nor does it begin only when we step into it. That's where our use of technology comes in. It enables us to offer flexibility and trust to all our lawyers so that they can produce excellent work while still having a life outside the office.
