Angelia is a Partner at Braddell Brothers LLP, specialising in dispute resolution and employment law. She graduated with a LL.B. degree from the National University of Singapore (Law Faculty) and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2015, before being made a Partner of the firm in 2020. Having grown her career at one of Singapore’s oldest law firms, Angelia has close to a decade of experience in commercial litigation and international arbitration across a broad range of disputes, both domestic and cross-border.

She has specialist expertise in employment & labour law, offering full-service capabilities with a risk-management perspective to support both employers and employers. She also has extensive experience in disciplinary proceedings representing the Singapore Medical Council, Council of Estate Agents, and the Law Society of Singapore.

Angelia is well-versed in navigating complex disputes, and is often commended by clients for providing strategic, practical and effective solutions. She regularly appears at all levels of the Singapore courts, and major arbitral institutes.  Outside the office, Angelia places strong emphasis on building and promoting the community of younger practitioners and women in arbitration. She serves in the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC)’s Women In Arbitration Executive Committee (2022 – 2024), which is committed to the promotion and success of female practitioners in arbitration and other related areas. She also emerged as a quarter-finalist in the 2017 Essex Court Chambers / Singapore Academy of Law Moot Court Competition for practitioners.

Angelia’s notable cases including representing and advising :-

  • Subsidiaries of Wondershare Technology, a China-listed software corporation, in claims exceeding S$1 million against a Singapore payment processing company in the Singapore High Court, including successfully obtaining Worldwide Mareva (Freezing) Injunctions.
  • Qompass Voyage Limited, a leading car rental services business based in Hong Kong (QEEQ), in Singapore High Court proceedings against a Singapore payment processing company, involving claims in breach of online payment processing services provided.
  • Former-head of a prominent private equity firm based in Southeast Asia in claims against the firm arising from the partnership agreement. The dispute was heard in the SIAC and concerned issues of good faith, contractual interpretation, agency under Cayman Islands law and other common law jurisdictions.
  • A prominent Indonesian businessman (part of a prominent group of companies in the Indonesian energy industry) to defend against claims by an Indian coal-industry tycoon and a related Singapore company concerning a joint development of a coal concession in Kalimantan, Indonesia. The dispute was heard in the SIAC and centred on issues including fraud, conspiracy and misrepresentation.
  • Subsidiary of BAFCO, a US headquartered manufacturer in high-volume low-speed (HLVS) airflow, in claims against former employees and related entities in the Singapore High Court in relation to breach of confidence, including successfully obtaining a performance injunction against them. This was the first reported decision that applied the modified three-step test for breach of confidence laid out in Coco v. AN Clark (Engineers) Ltd.
  • Utico FZC, U.A.E’s largest private Build-Own-Operate company for Desalination in the restructuring proceedings concerning the Hyflux Group.
